I recently wanted to renew a loan that I had. I had a CD that I was using as collateral against the loan that was exactly the same amount as what the loan was going to be for.

I was informed when I got the original loan that due to my unique circumstances that this would be the only way the bank would probably loan to me in the future. I understood and so I went ahead with it. When I decided to try and renew the loan the bank said I was at to great of a risk and they would be unable to loan to me again. Now mind you I was paying half the loan off in cash and I was still at this point making the loan payments.

All I was doing is trying to free up a little cash for maintenance and repairs...etc... This process started on the 19th of December and I had to renew and have my mother take the loan out because I wasn't going to be able to make the payment that was less than what I was currently making. We weren't able to close until the 26th of Feb. It was a total nightmare as the branch manager that was over the branch was actually over three branches and wouldn't ever call you back.

When you did call all but one teller would just leave you on hold for 10-15 mins at a time. At one point it took me over two weeks to get in touch with him after he told me he'd call me Monday. This was the worst customer service I have had in a very long time and I really liked banking there in the beginning but now I just want to pull everything out! To top it all off as my mother was closing the loan they wanted me to open a credit card with them because I was preapproved.

I asked them if they were kidding and he said no and didn't understand when I said after all the hassle I just went through I'm not giving you any more business at this time.

To sum it up the employee turn over rate recently has been pretty high. The employees except for one is confused what it takes to have good customer service and one manager for three branches isn't probably such a good idea...

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Location: Dayton, Ohio

Well there's 24 hour a day service center for reason, call it, that's why it's there. I hate Huntington but it's stuff like this that irritates me when working in this field.

Number one it's not the managers job, a bank is not a retail store like Walmart, people need to learn that. You get mostly free everything, be thankful. The consistent entitlements blow my mind, banks don't have to do anything for you.

Considering the bankers don't make any money off of having to go out of their way to accommodate you, I seriously doubt they really care if you take your business elsewhere. You're just causing them more work that theyd rather not have to do.
